High Capacity Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing Optical Local Area Network

چکیده
We propose a new optical Local Area Network (LAN) that exhibits high total capacity and enables the connection of a great number of nodes. It is based on the combined advantages of coherent techniques and Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM). The network topology is a passive star with a shared local oscillator that allows simple emission and detection schemes.
